As I looked for some meaningful Christmas traditions to start with my young family, I came to love the idea of the Jesse Tree. Filling each day of Advent with Scripture and keeping those stories alive as we fill our Jesse Tree seemed the perfect way to count down to Christmas while focusing on the messages of the Bible.

Based upon Isaiah 11:1, “A shoot shall come from the root of Jesse,” the Jesse Tree follows Old Testament history as God works to bring His promise of hope and new life to the world through Jesus. Each day, families read a story and place an ornament representing that story onto the Jesse Tree.

This 36″ x 24″ felt wall hanging is a great visual for kids. Each ornament is originally designed and handcrafted with beautiful detail and sturdy functionality. Parents don’t have to be afraid of young children handling and rearranging the ornaments as they are designed to be used year after year.

The book Jesse Tree Moments is written by the crafter. It is a devotional intended for parents and teachers to read directly to their kids. Each daily devotion is kid-friendly with built-in discussion questions to keep children engaged with the stories. Each day has a picture of the ornament of the day so you will always know which one to place on the tree. There are also 5 Advent Sunday devotions for the observance of the Advent candles. The book has 30 devotions total to encompass the whole of the Advent season.
